Middleweight Boxer, Rubin Hurricane Carter and his friend, John Artis were wrongly convicted for a June 1966 triple homicide in Patterson, New Jersey. Tried and convicted twice in 1967 and 1976 for the murders, their convictions were finally overturned in 1985. After serving 18 years and 14 years respectively, both men have since become advocates for the defence of the wrongly convicted. Their story inspired the 1975 Bob Dylan song Hurricane and the 1999 film The Hurricane starring Denzel Washington. Movie poster is framed to a gallery standard.
