Description
Rubin “Hurricane” Carter was the number one contender for the Middleweight Title, until he was falsely accused, and convicted of murder in 1967. The case was that a witness saw Hurricane and John Artis kill the bartender, and a patron in the Lafayette Bar & Grill in Patterson, New Jersey. Though the state’s evidence depended largely on the shaky testimony of two former convicts, Carter and Artis were convicted by an all-white jury of the murders. They were sentenced to life behind bars. Carter refused to behave like other prisoners believing that he was not a criminal and he should not be treated like one. He did not eat the prison’s food and wear prison garb.
Rubin “Hurricane” Carter and John Artis has personally signed the Everlast glove that has been professionally framed. They have also both added the extra inscription “Not Guilty”. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity and an image of Rubin and John signing the glove.
