John Sattler had his jaw smashed in the third minute of the 1970 Grand Final by Manly’s John Bucknall. He pleaded to team mate Mike Cleary, “Hold me up so they don’t know I’m hurt”. He then proceeded to play out the entire match helping the team claim South Sydney’s 19th premiership victory.
