The 1965 The Sydney Cricket Ground could comfortably accommodate 60,000 spectators. With capacity already reached two hours before kick-off the SGC staff closed the gates and posted an attendance figure of just over 78,000, a ground record. Meanwhile the surrounding streets and parklands were packed with an estimated 40,000 people who were still trying to get into the ground. The St George Rugby League team was a unique side that dominated the game for more than 10 years. In 1965 the Dragons won 15 of thier 18 round games and then beat South Sydney in the Grand Final 12-8. This was the Dragons 10th Premiership in a row, a run of tides that will never be conquered.
The 1965 premiership collage features a licensed team photo of the 1965 St George squad. The three action shots have been personally signed by Reg Gasnier, Johnny Raper and Graeme Langlands. A gold colored plague outlines the story. Professionally framed to a gallery standard.
You will also receive a certificate of authenticity and images of Gasnier, Raper and Langlands signing the action photo.
